IRVINE, Calif. - Adrianna Noriega and Jocylyn Vidal each had a pair of hits in San Jose State's (0-2) 11-2 five innings loss to No. 16 Duke (1-2) and Alyssa Graham hit a double in the Spartans 10-0 five innings loss to No. 14 Washington (2-0) to open their season Friday at the Mark Campbell Invitational in Irvine, Calif.
No. 16 DUKE
- Adrianna Noriega finished 2-for-3 and Vidal finished 2-for-2 with a double and a run scored
- Ashley Rico also scored a run for the Spartans and went 1-for-2 with a double
- Mackenzie Hutchinson had her first hit as a Spartan and Graham went 1-for-3
No. 14 WASHINGTON
- Karizma Bergesen and Aubrie Thomas each went 1-for-2
- Vidal went 1-for-2 and finished the day going 3-for-4 combined in both games
- Graham finished the game 1-for-2 with a walk and had the lone extra base hit for the Spartans
- Lacie Ham pitched 1.0 innings while striking out one and giving up one run
