LOS ANGELES – RHP Micky Thompson pitched five innings, struck out six batters and allowed only one run on three hits to lead San José State (1-1, 0-0 Mountain West) in a 6-2 loss to Loyola Marymount (1-1, 0-0 West Coast Conference) on Saturday night at Page Stadium.

  • Thompson matched his career high of five innings pitched which he set in 2022.
  • Jack Colette led the Spartans offensively, going 2-4. In the two games this season, he has hit 5-9.
  • Dalton Bowling went 1-for-2 and picked up his second RBI of 2023.
  • Matt Spear registered his first hit of the season.
  • RHP Cade Van Allen, LHP Corey Sanchez and RHP Nathan Hansen made their first appearances of the year.
