Spartans Picked Fifth in MW Preseason Poll

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The San José State softball team was picked fifth in the Mountain West Preseason Coaches' Poll, announced by the conference on Thursday. The Spartans were awarded 25 points along with Nevada and Fresno State for a three-way tie.

The Spartans bring back 2022 All-Mountain West Second Team players Alyssa Graham and Jenessa Ullegue. Ullegue was Mountain West Pitcher of the Year in 2019. Also coming back for the Spartans are Ashley Rico, Jocylyn Vidal, Karizma Bergensen and joining the Spartans is transfer Adrianna Noriega who was All-Mountain West First Team in 2021 at Fresno State. The Spartans open their season on Feb. 10 against No. 16 Duke and No. 14 Washington at the Mark Campbell Invitational in Irvine, Calif.
