San José State goes back to the state of Nevada for another Tuesday night game, this time in Reno. The Spartans will face Nevada inside the Lawlor Events Center at 7 p.m. The Wolf Pack enter the game with a 20-7 overall record and 10-4 Mountain West mark. The two teams, who are in the top-six of the MW standings, have exceeded preseason expectations as Nevada was selected ninth and the Spartans 10th in the MW Preseason Poll.

San José State enters the game with a 16-11 overall record and 7-7 MW mark after falling to New Mexico, 96-68, this past Friday night at the Provident Credit Union Event Center.  SJSU is tied for fifth in the MW standings with the Lobos, but UNM holds the tiebreaker after winning both meetings this season.

ABOUT NEVADA:  The Wolf Pack enter the game with a 20-7 overall record and 10-4 MW mark, third in the conference standings. The team fell at Utah State Saturday night, 75-66, after leading by as many as 21 points in the first half. Head coach Steve Alford is in his fourth year at the school.
Series Record - 51-64, Nevada has won the past four meetings. The two teams did not play each other during the 2020-21 season.

Seneca Knight scored 28 points and pulled down nine rebounds in the hard-fought win. The Spartans used a 17-2 run in the second half to take the lead.

Jalen James hit the game-winning shot with 1.8 seconds left to give San José State its first Mountain West in school history. James needed to shots for the game-winner as his first was blocked by AJ West, but James got his own rebound (his only one of the game), elevated in the key and shot it over the Nevada defender for the game winner.

MOORE JOINS ELITE SPARTAN LIST:  Omari Moore jumped into the top-10 career scoring list at San José State after scoring 14 points at UNLV on Valentine's Day. He enters Tuesday's game in ninth place with 1,163 points and needs 10 points to join Coby Dietrick for eighth place and 73 to reach Chris McNealy in seventh place.
January 17, 2023, a day that Moore will remember as he became the 16th player in San José State history to score 1,000 career points. There wasn't much fanfare to the 1,000th point as Moore scored the point from the free throw line with 4:14 left in the game at New Mexico.

16-WIN PLATEAU REACHES NEW LEVEL: The Spartans won their 16th game of the season in the 75-66 win at UNLV on Valentine's Day to become just the sixth team since 1980-81 to record 16 or more wins in a season. The most recent team to reach this milestone was the 2010-11 team that finished 17-16.

CONFERENCE WINS HITTING NEW HIGHS: With seven Mountain West wins, the Spartans have matched the 2016-17 team for the most MW wins in a season since joining the conference in 2013-14. SJSU has not won more than seven conference games since 1995-96 when the team went 9-9 in the Big West, won the Big West Tournament and played No. 1 Kentucky in the NCAA Tournament.

ALL THE COMFORTS OF HOME - GUARANTEED WINNING HOME RECORD: For the first time since the 2016-17 season, the Spartans are guaranteed a winning home record as the team has a 10-3 mark inside the Provident Credit Union Event Center. The 82-52 win over Air Force gave SJSU eight home wins to guarantee a winning record. The 2016-17 Spartan team finished 9-7 at The Event Center and 14-16 overall.

UP NEXT: The Spartans return to the Provident Credit Union Event Center for the final two home games of the season. SJSU hosts Boise State this Saturday the 25th beginning at 4 p.m. The final home game of the season is Tuesday the 28th as the Spartans welcome Colorado State for an 8 p.m. game to be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network. It is also the final home game for seniors Omari Moore, Sage Tolbert III and Kellen King who will be honored prior to the game.
