LOS ANGELES–Hunter Dorraugh went 4-for-4 with a 2-run home run, a double, three RBIs and a walk while Dalton Bowling went 2-for-4 with a grand slam, a double and four RBIs to lead San José State (2-1, 0-0 Mountain West) in a 12-2 win over Loyola Marymount (1-2, 0-0 West Coast Conference) on Sunday afternoon at Page Stadium.
- Dorraugh reached base safely in five plate appearances in a game for the second time in his career. He previously accomplished the feat on March 23, 2022 against Nevada.
- Bowling's grand slam, which took place in the second inning and was the Spartans first home run of the season, was his first career grand slam.
- Dorraugh and Charles McAdoo both scored three runs.
- McAdoo had his first multi-hit game of the season as he went 2-for-5.
- RHP Aaron Eden became the third SJSU starting pitcher in as many games this season to complete five innings. He allowed only two earned runs on five hits while striking out two batters.
- Eden became the first Spartans starter this season to record a win.
- RHP Darren Jansen and RHP Keaton Chase combined to pitch four scoreless innings of relief.
- Nik Trapani made his first appearance of the season, as a pinch hitter in the seventh inning, and he produced a two-run single.
- Also in the seventh inning, Jackson Forbes registered his first RBI of the season when he brought home a run with a single.
- The victory secured the series win for the Spartans as they took two out of three games against Loyola Marymount.
