SAN JOSE, Calif. - Theo Hardy went 2-for-4 and Charles McAdoo finished 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs to lead San José State (2-2, 0-0 MW) in a tough 7-6 defeat against Washington (3-2, 0-0 PAC-12) in the series opener on Thursday at Excite Ballpark. The Spartans led 5-4 heading into the eighth inning, but an error led to the game-tying run for the Huskies and UW scored two in the ninth to earn the series opening win.

  • Left-handed pitcher Jack White (1-1) tossed 3.1 innings, allowing two runs, one earned run and struck out two.
  • The Spartans scored three runs in the seventh inning to take the lead, highlighted by an RBI double from McAdoo.
  • After White recorded two quick outs in the eighth inning, the Huskies reached on an error and recorded consecutive singles to tie the game at 5-5.
  • Dalton Bowling and Matt Spear each drove in runs for the Spartans.
  • Right-handed pitcher Nathan Hansen tossed a scoreless fifth inning.
