SAN JOSE, Calif. - San José State's Izzie Fraire, Ela Freiman, Reagan Mathieson, and Emily San Jose were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, announced by the organization on Tuesday. The team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom. The honorees now advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. To be recognized, student-athletes must have a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade-point average, be at least a sophomore academically and participate in at least 50 percent of team competitions.
Izzie Fraire, Sr., Santa Maria, Calif./Allan Hancock JC
- Received a 3.56 GPA.
- Clocked a time of 2:18.72 in the 200-yard breaststroke to finish fifth at the Mizzou Invite
- Recorded a time of 30.92 in the 50-yard breaststroke at the Sprint Classic.
- Recorded her best time of the season in the 100-yard breaststroke at the Mizzou Invite with a time of 1:02.96.
Ela Freiman, So., San Jose, Calif./ Fremont HS
- Received a 3.66 GPA.
- Recorded the third fastest 200-yard IM in SJSU History with a time of 2:01.28 at the Mountain West Swim and Dive Championship.
- Recorded the second fastest 400-yard IM with a time of 4:19.45 at the Mountain West Swim and Dive Championship.
- Recorded the sixth fastest 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:16.94 to finish 15th at the Mountain West Swim and Dive Championship.
- Placed first in the 400-yard IM with a time of 4:30.45 against Fresno State.
Reagan Mathieson, Jr., Littleton, Colo./ Rock Canyon HS
- Recorded a 4.0 GPA.
- Recorded the fastest school time since 2016 with a 17:19.18 to finish fifth in the 800-yard Relay at the Mountain West Swim and Dive Championship.
- Finished 11th in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 50.62 at the Mountain West Swim and Dive Championship.
- Placed second in the 100-yard freestyle with a final time of 52.18 against Fresno State.
- Recorded a personal best in the 100-yard IM with a time of 58.83 against Pacific.
Emily San Jose, So., Trabuco Canyon, Calif./ Mission Viejo HS
- Recorded a 3.56 GPA.
- Competed in the 3-meter dive, finishing with a final score of 194.80 at the Air Force Invitational.
- Finished second in the 1-meter dive with a score of 266.48 against Pacific.
- Came in second overall with a score of 291.00 by day's end at the Roadrunner Invitational.
- Qualified for the NCAA Division I Zone Diving Championships for the 1-Meter and 3-Meter Dive.
UP NEXT: SJSU Dive will head to the NCAA Division I Zone Diving Championships in Federal Way, Wash. from March 6th-8th.
