Spartans Win 63-46 On Senior Night

SAN JOSE, Calif.—On an historic Senior Night, Omari Moore scored 14 points as one of three starters to score in double figures as the San José State men's basketball team won its 12th home game of the season with a 63-46 defeat of Colorado State in a Mountain West game inside the Provident Credit Union Event Center.

  • Moore also dished out four assists to give him 143 on the season, tying for the sixth-best total in a single season at SJSU.
  • He also got three steals and moved into fourth all-time with 117 steals at SJSU.
  • With his 14 points, Moore has now scored in double figures in 18 consecutive games
  • Alvaro Cardenas led the team in scoring with 16 points, his first game in double figures since Feb. 4 against Wyoming.
  • Cardenas also dished out a team-best five assists that led to 13 team points.
  • Trey Anderson scored 13 points as he was 3-for-4 from three-point range and a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line, his seventh game in double-figure scoring.
  • The Spartans had a balanced rebounding effort as Sage Tolbert III, Ibrahima Diallo and Moore each grabbed seven boards to lead the team.
  • San José State grabbed a season-high 9 steals in the win.
  • The Spartans improve to 18-12 on the season and 9-8 in the MW. The 18 wins are the most for the program since the 1980-81 team finished 22-9.
  • The nine conference wins are the most since 1995-96 when SJSU finished 9-9 in the Big West, won the conference tournament and played eventual national champions Kentucky in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
  • The Spartan defense held Colorado State to just 46 points, its lowest point total in a game this season, eclipsing the 56 scored against Penn State in November.
