SAN JOSE, Calif.—San José State women's gymnast Lauren Macpherson headlines the list of Spartan honorees from the conference as she was selected as the 2023 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Gymnast of the Year, as voted upon by the league's women's gymnastics coaches.

Had the greatest all-around season in MPSF, leading the conference with a 39.370 NQS
Broke the MPSF all-around record with a 39.550 at the Sacramento State Quad on March 3
Four of her all-around scores this season were among the top-15 in MPSF history
Won the all-around seven times and scored a 39.000 or better in nine of the 10 meets
MPSF's top performer on beam with 9.895 NQS
Tied the conference's beam record with a 9.950
Won MPSF Gymnast of the Week honors five times this season
The sixth Spartan to win this award – Taylor Chan, 2022; Cami Guyer, 2015; Julia Greer, 2014; Jennifer Greene, 2005; Shirla Choy, 2004
She also headlines a group of nine Spartans who were honored as an All-MPSF selection on their respective events. The All-MPSF awards were determined by the March 13 National Qualifying Score (NQS). The top gymnast from each school in each event was an automatic selection, while seven additional gymnasts per event were chosen as at-large selections, based on the next highest NQS, regardless of team. The top-five gymnasts received first team honors, while the remaining student-athletes were named to the second team.
