STANFORD, Calif.— Emilia Sjostrand and Cameron Tarver each took first place in their respective events to lead San José State in its outdoor season opener at the Cardinal Classic on Saturday.
- Emilia Sjostrand took first place in the Women's Triple Jump with a mark of 13.92m (45'8"). Her mark also sets the new school record for the Women's Triple Jump just one week after Sjostrand finished an All-American indoor season at the NCAA Indoor Championships in Albuquerque, N.M.
- Cameron Tarver took first place in the Men's 200m Dash with a time of 20.77 seconds in his first action since winning a Mountain West indoor title in the Men's 200m Dash at the MW Indoor Championships in Albuquerque, N.M. earlier this year
- Sarah Mosteller, Sharli'e McCuller, Alyssa Bean and Sophie Liao took first place in the Women's 400m Relay with a time of 45.53 seconds
- Demaris Waters took second place in the Men's 110m Hurdles with a time of 14.25 seconds
- Lina Schubert placed second in the Women's High Jump with a final mark of 1.73m (5'8")
- Christopher Coats joined his teammate Tarver on the podium in the Men's 200m Dash by placing third with a mark of 21.13 seconds
- Kaylen Fletcher and Aliyah Williams joined Mosteller and Bean to take second place in the Women's 1600m Relay with a mark of 3:43.29
UP NEXT: SJSU will head to San Diego for the Aztec Invitational on March 24 and 25.
