Clark Pitches Gem, Spartans' Bats Explode in 11-4 Win Over Saint Louis

SAN JOSE, Calif.—Right-handed pitcher Jonathan Clark tossed 6.0 innings, allowing only one run on four hits while striking out a season-high nine batters to lead the San José State baseball team (8-9, 4-2 Mountain West) in an 11-4 win over Saint Louis (12-7, 0-0 Atlantic 10) on Friday afternoon at Excite Ballpark. Dalton Bowling went 3-for-5 with a three-run home run and a double to power the Spartans on offense.

  • Charles McAdoo hit a solo home run and led the Spartans by scoring four runs. The home run was McAdoo's 15th of his career which moves him into ninth for most home runs by a Spartan all time.
  • Robert Hamchuk recorded two hits.
  • Nathan Cadena hit his fifth double in four games.
  • Jack Colette registered his team-leading fifth stolen base of the season.
  • Bowling's double was his conference-leading 10th of the season.
  • RHP Nathan Hansen pitched a scoreless top of the ninth inning.
