ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Adrianna Noriega, Jenessa Ullegue and Reina Zermeno all hit home runs to lead San José State (15-17, 3-3 MW) in an 8-6 loss at New Mexico (15-18, 3-3 MW) in the series finale from Lobo Softball Field on Sunday afternoon.
 
Ad. Noriega and Ullegue hit back-to-back home runs in the first inning for the first time this season and the three home runs tied the most in a game this season for the Spartans.
 
The Spartans had the bases loaded with two outs in the top of the seventh inning but couldn't score.

  • Ad. Noriega went 1-for-3 with her second home run of the season
  • Ullegue went 1-for-3 with her first home run of the season
  • Ullegue also pitched 4.2 IP with a strikeout
  • Zermeno ended the day going 2-for-4 with her second home run of the season
  • During the four games over the week, Zermeno hit .615 with a slugging percentage of 1.077 and had a home run, eight hits, five runs scored, four RBIs, three doubles, plus stole a pair of bases and had 10 putouts
  • Jessica Giacoma went 2-for-3 with her second double of the weekend, plus an RBI and a run scored
  • Giacoma hit .455 during the four games over the week including two doubles, one triple, five hits, four runs scored, one RBI and one stolen base
  • Karizma Bergesen and Ashley Rico also scored runs for the Spartans
  • Alyssa Graham walked and hit a sacrifice fly in the loss
  • Graham has been on base in 14 straight games
