The San José State women's gymnastics team competes twice this weekend starting with the Sacramento State Quad meet Friday night and then Senior Day on Sunday March 5, with a meet against Southern Utah.

  • On Friday, San José State will compete against Sacramento State, UC Davis and Southern Utah. This will be the second time the Spartans have faced the Hornets and Aggies and the first against the Thunderbirds.
  • San José State will face Southern Utah three times in eight days, twice this weekend and next Friday the 10th in Cedar City, Utah.
  • Sunday, five Spartan seniors will compete in the Provident Credit Union Event Center for the final time – Ariana Castrence, Cameron Kelperis, Jada Mazury, Emma Milne and Alexa Solomon.
  • Kelperis has been a fixture in the floor lineup during her Spartan career and competed on vault for three years.
  • Mazury is the defending MPSF Champion on bears, floor and the all-around. She was named the Breakout Performer of the Year by College Gym News last season.
  • Milne set the beam school record her freshman year and recently improved upon her record to a 9.950. She is the defending MPSF Champion on beam.
  • Solomon has been a mainstay on bars for the Spartans the past three years.
  • San José State is coming off a 196.150 last Friday night in a home meet with UC Davis. The Spartans won or tied for first on every event.
  • SJSU is currently ranked 36th nationally as a team and 25th on beam.

 
UP NEXT – The Spartans travel to Southern Utah for a meet with the Flippin Birds and Iowa on Friday the 10th, on Friday, March 10 beginning at 7 p.m. MT/6 p.m. PT. San José State will compete at the MPSF Championships on Saturday, March 18, at Clune Arena, hosted by Air Force. The meet begins at 2 p.m. MT/1 p.m. PT.

All youth 12 and under receive free admission on Sundays. Please be sure to buy your tickets through the San José State Athletics Ticket Office.
