MEET RESULTS
BERKELEY, Calif.— Fabio Hessling won the Men's Hammer Throw to lead San José State in winning one of two events at the Cal Opener. The Men's and Women's Hammer Throw were the only events that completed before the meet was cancelled after several lightning and rain delays.
- Hessling won his event with a mark of 58.24m (191'1"). The win is the first top finish of the Spartans' outdoor season
- Bryson Smith finished second in the Men's Hammer Throw with a mark of 58.04m (190'5")
- Lina Schubert was in third place with a mark of 5.09m (16'8.5") in the Women's Long Jump before it was cancelled midway through the event
UP NEXT: SJSU's Emilia Sjostrand will travel to Albuquerque, N.M. to represent the Spartans at the NCAA Indoor Championships. The rest of the Spartans will be back in action when they travel to Stanford for the Cardinal Classic held on March 18.
