SAN JOSE, Calif.—
Jack Colette went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and a two-run triple to lead the San José State baseball team (18-13, 11-4 Mountain West) in a 10-3 win over UNLV (14-20, 7-11 Mountain West) on Sunday afternoon at Excite Ballpark. Right-handed pitcher Keaton Chase tossed 5.0 innings, allowing three runs on five hits while striking out two to earn his third win of the season.

  • Left-handed pitcher Jesse Gutierrez pitched 2.1 scoreless innings, giving up only one hit while striking out two.
  • Charles McAdoo went 2-for-3 with a home run, two walks and two RBIs.
  • Dalton Bowling went 2-for-5 and hit his team-leading seventh home run of the season.
  • Colette and McAdoo hit back-to-back solo home runs in the first inning.
  • Theo Hardy had two hits including an RBI single.
  • Colette swiped his team-leading ninth stolen base of the season.
  • Nik Trapani and Hunter Dorraugh each walked twice.
  • RHP Joey Cammarata struck out the two batters he faced after entering the game in the seventh inning with two runners on and just one out.
  • LHP Jack White struck out the side in the ninth inning to secure the win.

UP NEXT: The Spartans will play Cal Poly on April 18, resuming their game against the Mustangs from February 20. On February 20, the game was postponed after the eighth inning due to darkness with the Spartans trailing, 11-10. Following the completion of the postponed game, the two teams will play a complete game. All of the action starts at 5 p.m. in San Luis Obispo, Calif.
