FORT COLLINS, Colo. –Ashley Rico and Jocylyn Vidal hit back-to-back home runs in the fourth inning to lead San José State (26-29, 11-11 MW) in a 5-2 loss to BYU (33-16, 11-4 WCC) from Red Rocks Field at the Triple Crown Sports facility in the Spartans first game of the NISC on Thursday.
- It was the second home run of the season for both Rico and Vidal
- The home runs happened with two outs and it's the second time this season the Spartans hit back-to-back home runs
- It's the fifth time this season the Spartans have had a multi-home run game
- Lacie Ham went 4.1 IP with two strikeouts
- Karizma Bergesen, Rico and Vidal all went 1-for-3 at the plate
- Makenzie Hutchinson threw out her 11th runner of the season trying to steal
- The game was delayed approximately an hour due to a thunderstorm
