SAN JOSE, Calif. – Jack Colette and James Shimashita both utilized the long ball in San José State's (26-24, 17-11 MW) 7-1 win over Nevada (20-32, 10-19 MW) to clinch the series heading into Saturday's regular-season finale.
- Colette opened the scoring with a leadoff solo blast to start the fourth inning over the right-centerfield wall.
- The Wolfpack was able to tie the game in the top of the third, but a pair of unearned runs in the bottom half gave SJSU a 3-1 lead.
- In the fourth inning, Shimashita extended the lead with a two-run shot that sneaked just inside the right-field foul pole.
- LHP Micky Thompson tossed 7.0 innings of one-run baseball, while tying his season high with six strikeouts.
- RHP Nathan Hansen had three strikeouts in 2.0 innings of relief.
