Spartans Fall to Air Force, Dorraugh Climbs All-Time Leaderboard

FRESNO, Calif.—
Hunter Dorraugh went 2-for-4 with a home run to lead the No. 1 seed San José State baseball team (28-25, 18-11 MW) in a 7-3 loss to No. 3 seed Air Force (28-29, 17-13 MW) on Friday night in the Spartans' second game in the Mountain West Championship. Dorraugh's home run was the 24th of his career which moves him past Robert Berns (1996-97) into third all-time for most career home runs by a Spartan.

  • Left-handed pitcher Micky Thompson tossed 4.1 innings, allowing only three runs on five hits while striking out four.
  • Theo Hardy reached base safely three times, registering two hits including a double and also getting hit by a pitch.
  • Robert Hamchuk delivered an RBI double.
  • Nik Trapani went 1-for-2 with a double and a walk.
  • James Shimashita led the Spartans with two walks.
