VALLETTA, Malta - San Josè State swimmer Mya Azzopardi followed her record-breaking day on Wednesday with another on Thursday with her freestyle split in the 100 medley relay at the Malta 2023 Games of the Small States of Europe.
"It was a proud Spartan moment to see Mya on the awards podium embraced by her country," head coach Sage Hopkins said.
- The 100-meter Malta relay team of Azzopardi, Victoria Balderacchi, Nirvana Micallef and Georgia Kate Bohl placed third and broke the Maltese record with a time of 4:18.69.
- Azzopardi's freestyle split of 57.93 was the fastest ever 100 freestyle split by a Maltese swimmer.
