SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Bente Pernot made 11 saves and Taylor Phillips scored a goal to lead the San José State women's soccer team in a 2-1 loss at No. 19 Santa Clara on Thursday night.

  • Pernot recorded double-digit saves for the second time in her career. She made a career-high 14 saves against Stanford in the NCAA Tournament in 2022.
  • Phillips' goal was the seventh of her career.
  • Kennedy Mayo led the Spartans with two shots.
  • Karissa Ruble recorded a shot on goal.
  • Ava Bynes, Hope Northrup and Sophia Memory made their NCAA debuts.
