SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San José State cross country teams gets its 2023 season started on Friday at the University of San Francisco Invitational, with the women's 6k scheduled for 2 p.m., followed by the men's 8k at 3:30 p.m.
- The Spartans return a handful of key runners from a season ago, including Constance O'Neal and Nereyda Alvarez on the women's side, and Michael Chadwick and Amelio Chio on the men's side.
- Following the USF invite, the Spartans have some time off before heading to Lodi to compete in the Pacific College Invitational on September 29.
- SJSU opens the month of October back in San Francisco for the San Francisco State Invitational on October 6 before competing in the Bronco Invitational on October 14 in Sunnyvale for their final regular-season meet.
- The Mountain West Championships are scheduled for October 27 in Boise, Idaho.
