COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San José State's Matthew Coleman was named Mountain West Freshman of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday. Coleman, a redshirt freshman from Carson, Calif., returned a punt for a 75-yard touchdown and is the first Spartan to take a punt to the house since Tre Jenkins did it against Utah State on Nov. 10, 2018. Coleman also caught a career-high three passes for 20 yards.
Last season, the Spartans had four player of the week honors and this is the second one for the Spartans this season after Nick Nash was honored in week 0.

- Has 124 all-purpose yards this season
