DAVIS, Calif. - Nikola Nikolic made three assists and scored two goals to lead the No.16 San José State men's water polo team in their 20-3 win against UC Merced. In the second game, Maro Tiozzo scored four goals and drew two exclusions to lead the Spartans in their 20-11 win against West Valley College.
MATCH ONE VS UC MERCED
- Mael Suchet, Márk Kis, Garrett Duardo, Gal Haimovich, Bence Szabo, Giancarlo Marquez, Mitchell Keightley, Erik Duesund, and Tiozzo all also scored.
- Duardo drew three exclusions to give the Spartans multiple power play opportunities.
- The Spartans won all four quarters.
- Goalkeeper Colton Boyd had seven saves on the match.
MATCH TWO VS WEST VALLEY COLLEGE
- Connor Macmillan, László Szieben, Louis Fehrensen, Deusund, Mateja Bosić, Szabo, Marquez, and Kis all also scored.
- Tiozzo and Kiss drew three exclusions each to give the Spartans six power-play opportunities.
- Bosić led the team in steals, tallying four.
- The Spartans finished the Aggie Invite with three wins and 48 goals scored.
