MORAGA, Calif.—Blaire Fleming recorded her career-high 22nd kill on match point to give the San José State volleyball team a 3-1 road win at Saint Mary’s Tuesday night in a non-conference match.
- Fleming recorded 20+ kills for the first time this season and second time in her career (20, at UNLV, 10/20/22).
- She ended the match hitting .405 with her 22 kills on a career-high 42 attempts and only five errors. She also added three blocks and three digs.
- Brooke Bryant also recorded a career-best 10 kills in the win with 23 attempts and six errors.
- Jiana Lawson led the Spartans with six blocks, one solo and five assists, in the win. She added seven kills and hit .467 with 15 attempts and no errors.
- Letizia Cammillucci had a team-best 14 digs and added five blocks, seven kills and two aces.
- Nayeli Ti’a neared her third double-double of the season with nine kills and nine digs.
- Elle Patterson led SJSU with three service aces, one dig and one assist.
- Teya Nguyen had 27 assists, five digs and two aces, while Brooke Slusser added 20 assists and seven digs.
- There were 27 tie scores and 10 lead changes in the first three sets before SJSU took charge of the fourth set from the first serve.
- The Spartans have started the season 7-3 for the first time since 2017.
- SJSU has started .500 or better through the first 10 matches of the year in eight of the past nine seasons. The best start to a season is 18-1 during the 1999 season.
