SAN DIEGO, Calif.—Three Spartans recorded double-digit kills, led by Letizia Cammillucci with a season-high 16, as the San José State volleyball team fell at San Diego State 3-1 Saturday afternoon in a Mountain West match at Peterson Gym.

  • Cammillucci recorded her third double-double of the season with her 16 kills and 11 digs.
  • This was Cammillucci’s sixth match of the season in double-figure kills and fifth in double-figure digs.
  • She hit .389 for the match with her 16 kills on 36 attempts and only two errors.
  • Nayeli Ti’a added 13 kills, five digs and three blocks.
  • Brooke Bryant added 11 kills and six blocks.
  • Jiana Lawson, the nation’s leader in total blocks, recorded a team-best eight blocks, one solo and seven assists.
  • The Spartans had 12 blocks in the match, the third consecutive match in double-figure blocks and fifth this season.
  • Alessia Buffagni recorded 20 digs for the Spartans, her fourth match with 20+ digs.

UP NEXT – The Spartans return home next week for MW matches on Thursday against Nevada at 6 p.m., and on Saturday against Fresno State beginning at 2 p.m. Both will be played inside Spartan Gym, located in the YUH Complex, on the corner of Fourth and San Carlos Streets. Admission is free.
