SAN JOSE, Calif. – After nearly a month off, the San José State cross country team is back in action on Friday, competing in the Pacific Collegiate Invitational in Stockton, Calif.
- Constance O'Neal is coming off a personal best at the USF Invitational with a 22:37 in the 6k to finish in 46th place overall.
- Amelio Chio also set a personal best in the season opener when he finished the 8k in 18:45.0 to finish in 41st overall to lead the Spartans on the men's side.
- Freshman Amanda Chalburg led the way on the women's side, finishing in 37th with a time of 22:20 in her first collegiate meet.
- Michael Chadwick had a strong season opener, finishing in 26:07.8.
- Freshman Alexander Walker also had a strong showing in his collegiate debut, finishing the 8k in 26:19.1.
- The men's 8k is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., while the women's 6k is set for 6:15 p.m.
