Spartans Add Two to Softball Coaching Staff

SAN JOSE, Calif. - San José State softball adds Keith Berg and Yasmin Mossadeghi to their 2023-24 coaching staff, announced by head coach Tammy Lohmann on Thursday.

"I am excited to announce the addition of Coach Keith and Coach Yasmin to our coaching staff," said Lohmann. "They both bring a great wealth of experience and are proven winners. At each of their stops, they have consistently showcased their ability to develop players and raise the bar within the program. I look forward to watching Keith develop and challenge our pitching staff. Our hitters will benefit tremendously from Yasmin’s knowledge, training and attention to detail. I cannot be more thrilled to work along side them both and continue to raise the standards within Spartans Softball."

Berg comes to SJSU after 10-years (2013-23) as head coach at Monterey Peninsula College (MPC) where he led the Lobos to two Coast Conference titles in 2017 and 2018, plus four straight 30-plus win seasons.

Mossadeghi arrives in San Jose following one season as an assistant coach at Harvard where she helped lead the Crimson to the 2023 Ivy League championship with a 29-17-1 record.

The Spartans look to continue their success in 2024 after making it to the Mountain West Championship game and playing in the postseason at the National Invitational Softball Championship last season.
