SAN JOSE, Calif. - The No. 15 San José State men's water polo team will head to Irvine, Calif. for the Big West - WCC challenge at the Anteater Aquatics Center. The Spartans will take on No. 8 UC Davis at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 30th. On the same day, SJSU will also compete against No. 11 UC San Diego at 4:30 p.m. The Spartans will round out the weekend against No.12 UC Santa Barbara on Sunday, October 1st at 9:30 a.m.
THIS SEASON IN REVIEW:
- Bence Szabo scored the game-winning goal to help the Spartans take down No. 4 UC Davis 8-7 at the Aggie Invite on September 9th.
- Goalkeeper Jaime Steingraf recorded nine saves in the match against No. 4 UC Davis.
- The Spartans outscored the Mustangs in the third and fourth quarters after being down 2-3 at the half.
- Nikola Nikolic made three assists and scored two goals to lead SJSU in their 20-3 win against UC Merced on September 10th.
- Laszlo Szieben scored two goals and three assists against No. 15 LMU.

- The Spartans are currently ranked 15th nationally right behind Santa Clara University.
- Bence Szabo was named to the WCC pre-season team.
VS UC Davis:
- The Aggies are currently ranked eighth nationally with a season record of 7-6 coming off a 15-10 loss to No. 11 Long Beach on Sunday.
- The Spartans last faced the Aggies on September 9th, an 8-7 Spartan win.
VS UC San Diego:
- The No. 11 Tritons have a season record of 8-6 and are coming off a 12-11 win against CBU on Sunday.
- SJSU last faced UCSD on September 25th, 2022 resulting in a 14-6 UCSD win.
- The Spartans have a 1-3 all-time record against the Tritons.
VS UC Santa Barbara:
- The No. 12 Gauchos currently have a season record of 9-6 and are coming off a 13-10 win over LMU last Saturday.
