SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San José State women's swim and dive team will host the University of Nevada, Reno for their first meet of the season this Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the SRAC pool.
- Jenna Jagielski broke the SJSU platform dive record with a score of 261.75 at the Mountain West Championship.
- Felicity Passon broke two pool records in the 200-yard backstroke with a 2:00.17 and the 50-yard freestyle with a 23.54 to beat Pepperdine.
- Zsófia Muzsnay swam a 54.15 in the 100-yard butterfly to record the fourth-fastest time in SJSU history at the Mountain West Swim and Dive Championship.
- Ela Freiman recorded the third-fastest 200-yard IM in SJSU history with a time of 2:01.28 and the second-fastest 400-yard IM with a time of 4:19.45 at the Mountain West Swim and Dive Championship.
- Megan Legarth, Reagan Mathieson, Passon, and Cali Rowland broke a pool record in the 400-yard medley against Pacific.
WHAT'S NEW:
- The Spartans have seven freshmen on their 2023-2024 roster: Sahara Dalbik, Hannah Ernst, Ashley Jackson, Quincy Key, Shyann Kissinger, Vilma Lindberg, and Dalton Sickon.
- SJSU also welcomes one transfer: Melissa Venzon, a sophomore from the University of New Mexico.
VS NEVADA:
- In the 2022-2023 season, Nevada finished fourth overall at the Mountain West Championships and had an overall record of 6-1.
- The Spartans have a 2-9 overall record against the Wolf Pack.
- Their last meeting was in 2021, a 63-47 Nevada win.
