STANFORD, Calif.—Lucia Lopez Ortega and Darae Chung each shot a 3-over 74 in the first round of the Stanford Intercollegiate Friday morning to lead the San José State women’s golf on the par-71 Stanford Golf Course.
- Lopez Ortega and Chung are tied for 51st with eight other players.
- Lopez Ortega shot 1-under over the final 13 holes, making two birdies and 11 pars.
- Chung also made two birdies during the round, on her first and final holes of the day.
- Louisa Carlbom shot a 4-over 75, with one birdie and 12 pars during the round.
- Rebecca Gyllner had a 6-over 77 for the round to tie for 79th.
- Tessa Kremser shot a 7-over 78 to finish tied for 85th.
- Moa Andersson, playing as an individual, shot a 3-over 74, making four birdies during her round.
- The Spartans finished the day tied for 16th with Georgia and Colorado at 16-over 300. UCLA leads the field at 10-under 274.
UP NEXT – Second-round action for the Spartans begins Saturday at 11:45 a.m. off of hole 10.
