Spartans Take On Fresno State Thursday Night

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San José State women's soccer team (3-9-6, 1-6-3 MW) will play at Fresno State (4-8-6, 3-4-3 MW) on Thursday night on the Mountain West Network. For the Spartans, it will be their final match of the season. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.


  • The Spartans fell 2-1 in two separate matches last week, against Colorado College on Thursday and Air Force on Sunday.
  • Sabrina Weinman scored in both contests, off a free kick against Colorado College and from the penalty spot versus Air Force.
  • Bente Pernot made 11 saves for the week, recording three in the first match and eight in the second.

  • The Spartans are second in the conference in saves with 101 and Pernot is second individually with 90.
  • The Spartans have the fifth-best attendance average in the conference, drawing 516 fans per home contest.

  • With 10 career shutouts, Pernot is tied with Nina Butera (2007-09) for fourth in Spartans' history for most career clean sheets. The all-time leader is the Spartans' current assistant coach, Paige Simoneau (2015-2018).
