COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—San José State women’s golfer Darae Chung has been honored as the Mountain West October Women’s Golfer of the Month.

Darae Chung, RS-Fr., Wellington New Zealand/Chilton St. James School

  • Averaged 71.83 strokes over six rounds in a pair of tournaments loaded with nationally ranked competition.
  • First career top-10 finish at the Illini Women’s Collegiate at Medinah, shooting a 4-under 212 to tie for ninth. Two of her three rounds were under par (70-69-73).
  • Helped the Spartans to a fourth-place finish in the 15-team field, which included 12 teams ranked in the top-50.
  • Tied for 46th at the Stanford Intercollegiate at the Stanford Golf Course
  • Shot a 6-over 219 (74-71-74) against a 19-team field that included 16 teams ranked in the top-50.
