SAN JOSE, Calif. - San José State is adding a home-and-home series with UTSA out of the American Athletic Conference, announced by Deputy Athletics Director and football sport administrator Scott MacDonald on Tuesday. The Spartans will travel to San Antonio, Texas on Aug. 31, 2030 and host UTSA on Sept. 3, 2033. The two programs have only met once before.

"As we build out our future football schedule, we want to bring in quality opponents for our fan base and give our student-athletes an opportunity to compete against some of the best Group of Five programs in the country," said MacDonald. "UTSA is a quality program that qualified for its fourth consecutive bowl game this year."

Earlier this month, SJSU announced the renewal of the Bill Walsh Legacy Game series with Stanford starting at CEFCU Stadium on Nov. 30, 2024 for seven home games next season.
