SACRAMENTO, Calif.—Four Spartans won event titles as Lauren Macpherson tied for first on beam and won the all-around as the San José State women’s gymnastics team scored a 194.950 to win a dual meet at Sacramento State Sunday afternoon.
- Macpherson scored a season-best 39.175 in the all-around to win the title.
- She and Katherine Weyhmiller scored the first 9.900s on the season as they tied for first on beam.
- Jaudai Lopes won the vault with a season-high 9.875.
- Jada Mazury won the floor with a season-high 9.875.
- The Spartans started the meet with a season-best 48.875 on bars, led by Mazury’s 9.800.
- All five counting scores on bars were 9.750 or higher.
- SJSU then scored a 48.925 on vault for the second straight meet led by Lopes’ 9.875, followed closely by Madison Kirsch at 9.850.
- The floor team then scored a 48.875 in the third rotation.
- Freshman Marissa Ashton led the beam team off in the final rotation with a 9.850, and Weyhmiller and Macpherson closed out the rotation with their 9.900s.
UP NEXT – The Spartans travel to Boise State Friday night for a quad meet with the Broncos, Air Force and West Chester. The meet begins at 7 p.m. MT/6 p.m. PT.
