Spartans Victorious Friday With Season-High Scores

SAN JOSE, Calif.—Lauren Macpherson won the all-around with a 39.450, and Jada Mazury won the floor to give the San José State women’s gymnastics team a 196.400-196.175 win over UC Davis Friday night inside the Provident Credit Union Event Center.

  • Macpherson is the first Spartan in school history to score a 39.450 in the all-around, and it is the fifth-best all-around score in San José State history.
  • SJSU scored a season-best 49.000 on vault to tie for the seventh-highest vault score in school history.
  • Madison Kirsch and Macpherson led the team, each with a 9.825.
  • In the next rotation, SJSU followed with another 49.000 on bars.
  • Sophia Konieczny won the bars with a career-best 9.875.
  • Macpherson led the beam team with a 9.925 to win the title as SJSU scored another season-best 49.050.
  • The floor team finished the night with a 49.350, tying for the fifth-best floor score in school history.
  • The two teams were tied at 196.175 in the fourth rotation with just Mazury’s floor routine to be scored.
  • Mazury won the floor with a 9.925 to secure a 196.400 for the Spartans and the win over the Aggies.
  • Mazury won her third consecutive and fourth overall floor title of the season.
  • This was the first meet of the season that the Spartans scored a 49.000 or better on all four events.
  • The Spartans 196.400 is the sixth-best team score in school history, and the first time a Spartan team has recorded this score.
