Spartans Win Three Event Titles at Utah State

LOGAN, Utah—Lauren Macpherson won two titles Friday night, and Jaudai Lopes and Madison Kirsch tied for first on vault as the San José State women’s gymnastics team scored a 195.725 Friday night in a Mountain West meet at Utah State as the Aggies scored a 195.925.

  • Macpherson tied for first on bars with a 9.850, her second bars title of the season.
  • She also won her fifth all-around title of the year with a 39.275.
  • Lopes and Kirsch each scored a 9.825 on vault to tie for first on vault. They helped the vault team to a 48.975, tying for the eighth-best vault score in school history.
  • Macpherson led the beam team with a 9.825.
  • Jada Mazury, Lopes and Macpherson each recorded a team-best 9.825 on floor.
  • Lopes scored a 39.125 in the all-around, her first meet to compete in all four events since January 14.
  • Mazury added a 9.800 on vault and bars.

UP NEXT – The Spartans travel up Interstate 80 to face UC Davis on Sunday, February 25, at 2 p.m.
