SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Rose Jensen scored five goals and tallied one assist to lead the No. 16 San José State water polo team in their 24-1 win against Austin College. Darcy Spark scored four goals and had one steal to lead the No. 16 Spartans in their 8-7 loss to No. 13 Pacific.
Austin College
- Ryann Lucchesi scored the first goal of the match.
- Zsofia Hadju was on fire recording eight saves on the afternoon with an 88.9 save percentage.
- Paxtyn Reihs and Lucy Miszewski both had hat tricks during the match, tallying three goals each.
- Maiken Pardon, Sinia Plotz, Emma Ruzic, Genevieve Larkin, Ivanna Anderson-Villela, Jennine Osorio, Mackenzy Clark, Ryann Lucchesi, Renee Fleming and Spark also put points on the board during the match.
- Osorio led the team in assists with two.
- Pardon and Osorio both had strong defense recording four steals each.
Pacific
- Plotz scored the first Spartan goal of the game to tie the score 1-1 at 6:37 in the first quarter.
- Spark scored two goals in the first period to make the score tied at 3-3.
- Osorio scored the only Spartan goal of the second period to make the score 4-6.
- Spark had back-to-back goals to tie the game 6-6 going into the final period.
- Ruzic got the rebound to tie up the score 7-7 with only 0.21 seconds left in the fourth quarter.
- Grace Smith tallied 15 saves in the match.
- Plotz led the team in assists tallying two.
