Men's Golf Heads to the Amer Ari Intercollegiate

KAMUELA, Hawaii - The San José State men's golf team will compete in the Amer Ari Intercollegiate February 8-10, at the Mauna Lani Resort Golf Club in Kamuela, Hawaii, hosted by the University of Hawaii at Hilo.

  • The Spartans will tee off each day in a shotgun at 9:30 a.m.
  • SJSU finished 10th out of 13 teams in the Southwestern Invitational team competition, shooting a 861 (+9).
  • Senior Carl Corpus shot consecutive rounds of 68-69-74 to finish tied 17th at the Southwestern Invitational.
  • Junior Zubair Firdaus finished in a tie for 23rd, shooting rounds of 75-69-70.
  • The Amer Ari Intercollegiate will feature a strong field including nine teams in the top 25.
  • The field includes No. 1 Auburn, No. 2 North Carolina, No. 4 Washington, No. 7 Arizona State, No. 11 Georgia Tech, No. 12 Florida State, No. 16 Texas, No. 18 Oregon, No. 22 Texas Tech, UCLA, Oklahoma State, Oregon State, Pepperdine, Stanford, UC Davis, UH Manoa, Pacific, Osaka Gakuin (Japan) and UH Hilo.
  • The Mauna Lani Resort Golf Club will be a Par 72 at 6,913 yards.
  • The lineup for the Spartans consists of Corpus, Firdaus, Caleb Shetler, and Kris Stilesand Ivan Barahona while Keshav Mungali and Avinash Iyer will play as an individual.

NEXT UP: The Spartans will head to Bandon, Ore. to compete in the Bandon Dunes Championship hosted by Idaho at Bandon Dunes Resort on March 10-12.
