Spartans Celebrate Seniors On Saturday Against Colorado State

SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San José State women's basketball team (6-22, 1-15 MW) is set to play its final home game of the season on Saturday when they host Colorado State (18-9, 9-7 MW) at 2 p.m.

  • The Spartans will honor four seniors prior to the tip: Sophia Jones, Alani Fluker, Mia Grizelj and Semaj Smith.
  • The Spartans are coming off an 88-73 loss to Wyoming on Wednesday.
  • The Spartans had their best game of the season from behind the arc, shooting over 45 percent for the first time this season and tying their season high with 12 made 3PT FGs.
  • SJSU is first in the league in offensive rebound percentage (34.4).
  • SJSU ranks inside the top five in the Mountain West in rebounding defense (2nd), blocked shots (4th), steals (4th, rebounding margin (5th), FG percentage (5th) and 3PT FG percentage (5th), .
  • Amhyia Moreland is second during Mountain West play in offensive rebounds, third in blocked shots and 11th in scoring.
  • Sabrina Ma is averaging a team-high 14.6 points over her last five games and is fifth in the league in 3PT FGs made this season.. 
  • This is the Spartans' final home game of the season, and in their last meeting with Colorado State in Fort Collins on 1/27, they fell 65-49.
