  • The Spartans travel to the Centennial state this weekend for meets on Friday and Sunday. The team starts with a Mountain West tri-meet at Air Force with Utah State. The Spartans then compete on Sunday in a quad meet at Denver with Air Force and Lindenwood.
  • The Spartans are ranked 33rd in the country with a 195.995 NQS. Utah State is 44th with a 195.235 NQS, while Air Force is 57th at 194.325 NQS. Denver is 11th with a 197.270 NQS, and Lindenwood is 50th at 195.090 NQS.
  • This is the third meeting between Air Force and SJSU and the second between Utah State and the Spartans this season. All three teams will compete at the first-ever MW Championship in Logan on March 23.
  • The Spartans and Denver competed against each other to start the 2024 season at the Mean Girls Super 16 in Las Vegas. The two programs also opened the 2022 season with a meet in Denver.
  • Three Spartans earned MW honors this week – Mia Nelson, Vault Specialist; Lauren Macpherson, Beam Specialist; and Jada Mazury, Co-Floor Specialist.
  • San José State scored a season-best 196.600 Sunday in a win at UC Davis. The Spartans took at least a share of all four event titles.
  • The beam team set a record with a 49.350, anchored by Macpherson who tied the school record with a 9.950.
  • Mazury won the bars with a 9.900 and tied for first on floor at 9.925.
  • Nelson won the vault with a season-best 9.875.
  • This weekend is a homecoming of sorts for two Spartans who came to San Jose from Colorado.
  • Sophia Konieczny graduated from East High School in Denver and trained at the Colorado Gymnastics Institute.
  • Katherine Weyhmiller graduated from Chatfield High School in Littleton and trained at Incline Gymnastics.

UP NEXT – The Spartans return home for the Spartan Quad meet on Sunday, March 10, beginning at 2 p.m.
