Spartans Fall Twice Sunday at Southland Midseason Tournament

NEW ORLEANS, La.—The Spartans top-two pairs were victorious against host New Orleans Sunday morning as the San José State beach volleyball team finished play at the Southland Midseason Tournament with losses to New Orleans (3-2) and Boise State (5-0).

 

  • Against the Privateers, Jaida Ward and Jada Hall won in straight sets, 21-8, 21-12, to reach 10 wins on the season.
  • Teila Allen and Cheyenne Rice also won in straight sets, 21-17, 21-13, to record their 11th win of the year.
  • Shirley Morrison and Anna Salmon fell in three sets, winning the second set 25-23 and lost a close third set at 15-13.
  • The Spartans fell in straight sets in all five matches to Boise State.

UP NEXT – The Spartans will host exhibition matches against West Valley College and Monterey Peninsula College on Wednesday, March 27. The team will play at Saint Mary’s on April 3 at 3 p.m.
