INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.—The San José State women’s gymnastics team will be making their ninth appearance at an NCAA Regional this April as the Spartans will compete at the Berkeley Regional hosted by the University of California, April 4-7, at Haas Pavilion.
- The Spartans were selected as one of the 36 teams in the field with a national qualifying score (NQS) of 196.555.
- San José State will compete against Southern Utah on Thursday, April 4, at 2 p.m., in the first round.
- The winner will advance to the second round and will compete in the second session on Friday, April 5, at 7 p.m.
- If the Spartans do not advance, they will be represented by three student-athletes who will compete as individuals.
- Lauren Macpherson qualified as an all-around regional competitor for the third consecutive season.
- Jada Mazury will compete on bars and floor.
- Katherine Weyhmiller earned her first regional berth on beam.
- The top two teams from each regional will receive an automatic berth to the national championships. In addition, the top all-around competitor and top event specialist from round two at each regional (who is not on a team advancing to nationals) will advance to the national championships. Event specialist qualifiers will only compete in the events they qualified.
