STANFORD, Calif.—Anna Salmon and Shirley Morrison got their first win of the season to help the San José State beach volleyball team to a 3-2 win over Oregon Saturday afternoon at the Battle of the Bay. The Spartans dropped the final dual of the tournament to No. 2 Stanford, 5-0, at the Stanford Beach Volleyball Stadium.
- Salmon and Morrison won in straight sets, 21-15, 21-12.
- Cheyenne Rice and Teila Allen needed three sets to win for a Spartan point. After dropping the first set, they rallied to win 22-20, 15-8.
- Jaida Ward and Jada Hall won in straight sets, 21-16, 21-17.
- Alexandra Dale and Meredith Scott pushed their match to three sets, winning the second set 21-18.
- Against Stanford, the Spartans were swept in all five matches.
UP NEXT – The Spartans return to the courts on Saturday, March 9, when the team plays twice against San Francisco at the College of Marin.
