The San José State beach volleyball team will play two duals Saturday against the University of San Francisco beginning at 10 a.m. at the College of Marin. The second dual will start at approximately 12:30 p.m.
- The Spartans are coming off a 1-3 record at the Battle of the Bay after defeating Oregon, 3-2, but falling to Saint Mary’s, 2-3, UC Davis, 1-4, and No. 2 Stanford, 0-5.
- Cheyenne Rice and Teila Allen went 3-1 last weekend at the Battle of the Bay, winning 2-0 against Saint Mary’s and 3-1 versus UC Davis and Oregon.
- Jada Ward and Jada Hall swept the pairs from Saint Mary’s and Oregon.
- Anna Salmon and Shirley Morrison won 2-0 against the Oregon pair to help the Spartans win the dual.
UP NEXT – San José State will host the Inaugural Sand Jose Invitational March 16 & 17 at Spartan Beach. Teams competing include Texas A&M Corpus Christi, Sacramento State, Utah, Saint Mary’s and Sierra College.
The Spartans will play at the Southland Midseason Tournament March 22-24, in New Orleans, and at the Southland Championships, April 19-21, in Houston, Texas.
