Divinity and Reed Lead Spartans at Day One of Tom Jones Memorial Invitational

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Eve Divinity and Ajamu Reed both had top-ten finishes for San José State Track & Field at the first day of the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational hosted by Florida at James G. Pressly Stadium , Percy Beard Track in Gainesville on Friday.

  • In the Women's Long Jump, Divinity placed third with a jump of 6.20 meters, a season best for her. 
  • In the Men's Long Jump Invite, Reed returning from injury and competing against various professionals placed sixth with a distance of 7.54 meters. 
  • Alyssa Bean placed sixth in the Women's 200m with an outdoor lifetime best time of 23.95 seconds. 
  • Also in the Women's 200m, Selena Arjona-Alcazar placed 12th with a personal best time of 24.08. 
  • In the Men's 400m Hurdles, Zaire Waring placed eighth with a season best time of 52.52.
  • Ma'Nia Tidwell recorded a personal best time of 1:05.47 in the Women's 400m Hurdles.
  • Jeremiah Walker ran a season best 20.93 in the Men's 200m Invite.
