SAN JOSE, Calif.—Jaida Ward, Cheyenne Rice and Siena Brewster had wins on Senior Day Saturday to help the San José State beach volleyball team to wins over Santa Clara, 4-1, and San Francisco, 3-2, at a cold and windy Spartan Beach.
San José State 4, Santa Clara 1
- Ward and Jada Hall needed three sets for the win, 21-16, 18-12, 15-7.
- Rice and Teila Allen won in straight sets, 21-19, 21-12, along with Brewster and Meredith Scott, 21-18, 21-16.
- Alexandra Dale and Tessa Rogers got the first Spartan point of the dual, winning 21-16, 21-18.
San José State 3, San Francisco 2
- Ward and Hall won in straight sets, 21-17, 21-19, to give the Spartans the win over the Dons.
- Rice and Allen recorded the second Spartan point in three sets, 18-21, 21-14, 16-14.
- Shirley Morrison and Anna Salmon won 21-12, 21-19, to get the first point of the dual for either team.

UP NEXT – The Spartans travel to Houston later next week for the Southland Conference Championship hosted by Houston Christian. The championship will next place April 19-21.
