Spartans Win 4-0 on Senior Day

SAN JOSE, Calif.—Seniors Irena Muradyan, Rozalina Youseva, Jovana Babic and Carolina Millan all contributed wins on Senior Day as the San José State women’s tennis team (13-6, 4-4) won 4-0 over Utah State Sunday afternoon at Spartan Tennis Complex.

  • Youseva teamed with Duru Durgun to win 7-5 and clinch the doubles point for SJSU.
  • Babic and Millan won their match 7-5 to give SJSU the early advantage in doubles.
  • Muradyan, at No. 2 two singles, won in straight sets, 6-2 and 6-2, to give the Spartans the first point in singles play and the second point of the match.
  • Durgun got the team’s third point with a 6-2, 6-3 win at the sixth spot.
  • Babic then closed out the victory for the Spartans with a 6-1, 6-4 win for the four Spartan point.
  • Millan had battled back in her singles match, falling 3-6 in the first set, winning 6-0 in the second set and was down 1-2 in the third when the fourth point was recorded.

UP NEXT – The Spartans travel to Fresno State Thursday for the final Mountain West match of the season.
