Spartans Fall 4-3 at Fresno State to End Regular Season

FRESNO, Calif. - Rozalina Youseva and Duru Durgan each won their doubles and singles matches to lead San José State (13-7, 4-5 Mountain West) in a 4-3 loss at Fresno State (10-12, 4-4 Mountain West) Thursday afternoon from the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center to end the regular season.

  • Irena Muradyan, the reigning Mountain West Player of the Week, came up just short in the final match of the day falling 3-6, 7-5, 6-7 (6-8) to Misaki Kobayashi.
  • The Spartans took the doubles point, 2-0, and ended the regular season going 39-24 in doubles matches.
  • Durgan and Youseva took their doubles match, 6-2, and ended the regular season 12-1.
  • Jovana Babic and Carolina Millan took their doubles match, 6-4, and went 7-9 this regular season.
  • Youseva won her singles match 6-4, 6-3 over Charlotte Gisclon to go to 11-5 on the season.
  • Durgen took her singles match 7-5, 6-4 over Eliza Dunbar and ended the regular season 11-4.
