Lopez Leads Spartans in Day One of Fresno State Invitational

CLOVIS, Calif. – Jacob Lopez had a lifetime best in the Men’s Hammer Throw for San José State Track & Field after the first day of competition at the Fresno State Invitational in Clovis on Friday.

  • Lopez recorded a lifetime best throw of 46.04 meters in the Men’s Hammer Throw event. 
  • Also in Men’s Hammer Throw, Ashton Headley took eighth place with a throw of  54.85 meters.
  • In Men’s Long Jump Invite, Ajamu Reed placed second with a distance of 7.66 meters, a season best for the freshman. 
  • Also in the Men’s Long Jump Invite, Issac Davis took fifth place with a jump of 7.11 meters.
  • Emilia Sjostrand in her Women’s Long Jump Invite season opener, took first place with a distance of 6.32 meters. 
  • Also in the Women’s Long Jump Invite, Greta Fraraccio took ninth place with a distance of 5.56 meters

UP NEXT: The Spartans will finish up the Fresno State Invitational with the second and final day of competition on Saturday, April 27.
