SAN JOSE, Calif. – San José State Athletics is bringing back the Spartans Golf Classic on Friday, June 21, at Cinnabar Hills Golf Club for a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start. The tournament will help fund the championship drive for more than 550 student-athletes as they continue the Charge of the Spartans in the community, classroom and in competition.
"After numerous comments from our fans and supporters to bring back the golf outing, we are excited to announce the Spartans Golf Classic is back! We look forward to seeing many of our supporters and fans out at Cinnabar Hills Golf Club on June 21st," said Director of Athletics Jeff Konya. "It will be a first-class event and a fun day of golf for everyone.
"I also want to recognize some of our sponsors for this event, including Ability Advertising, Atomic Productions, Cinnabar Hills Golf Club and Tap Truck."
The event will feature a four-person scramble format and check-in will begin at 10 a.m. Entry includes one round of golf, lunch, dinner and multiple special gifts. Golfers can bid on several high-end silent auction items, which will be listed the week before on SJSUSpartans.com.
Enjoy a fun afternoon of golf while sharing in the successes of SJSU Athletics and supporting the student-athletes. Sammy will be on site for plenty of photo opportunities, along with numerous student-athletes, staff and fun games with a 1-hour cocktail immediately following golf and a nice dinner, all included in the price.
The Spartans are in the midst of another historic year with women's golf just concluding another top-20 finish at the NCAA national championships and men's golf making the NCAA Regionals for the first time since 2019. SJSU currently ranks second in the Mountain West in the latest Learfield Directors' Cup standings, ahead of rivals Fresno State and San Diego State, trailing only Air Force.
